I am ready to take Conrad head-on. In order to accomplish it, we need to be united and bring forth a change: Richard M Marak
Richard M Marak, the South Tura candidate for the Trinamool Congress (TMC) has once again expressed confidence in taking on Chief Minister Conrad Sangma in the constituency.
“I am ready to take Conrad head-on. In order to accomplish it, we need to be united and bring forth a change. Our leader Dr. Mukul Sangma is in TMC to fight for our tribe, our nation, and our land. We have been suppressed. But we know that when we fight, we fight till death. We will fight like warriors for our people. That is precisely what Dr. Mukul Sangma is doing,” he said in a statement issued by TMC.
Meghalaya State In-Charge Dr. Manas Ranjan Bhunia and Member of Parliament and Leader of the AITC Parliamentary Party Derek O’Brien actively campaigned for Richard M. Marak yesterday (January 16)
at Modynagar.
To learn how much neglect they faced under CM Conrad Sangma, who has served as the legislator from the South Tura constituency, the party organised an interactive session with the public.
During the interactive session, locals mentioned that they faced countless issues due to the inefficacious governance of Conrad-led MDA and expressed seeing TMC as an alternative.
After listening to them, Richard M Marak instilled hope and confidence in the people of the area who have been deprived of necessities.
Dr. Manas Ranjan Bhunia elaborated on the people-centric schemes from Meghalaya TMC and expressed his conviction to bring a change.
“Richard is a warrior; he is your brother and friend. He has put his heart and soul to work for the people of this constituency. We are confident that Meghalaya TMC will bring a change in the hill state. This is evident from the support that the people have bestowed on us. Our motto, as a party, is to work for the different sections of society. We will work on the issues related to education and employment on a priority basis,” siad Ranjan Bhunia in the statement.
“We have promised the women of Meghalaya to extend economic support via Meghalaya TMC’s women-centric WE Card scheme. More than 4,000 households have registered for WE Card in South Tura placing their trust in the resolute efforts of Meghalaya TMC. To bring a change in the lives of unemployed youth, we have also introduced the MYE Card which has been well received by the youth of the state”, he added.
