Manipur CM visits Moirang, inspects site for pre-fab houses for displaced people

Over 500 Internally Displaced People (IDPs) are taking shelter in the relief camps in Moirang
Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Friday visited Kwakta Sericulture Training Institute located at Moirang under Bishnupur district in Manipur to identify the areas where nearly 1000 pre-fabricated houses for the displaced people of the state will be erected.
The pre-fabricated houses will accommodate families whose houses were burnt or destroyed during the recent violence.
Moirang is housing the maximum number of displaced persons in the state. Over 500 Internally Displaced People (IDPs) are taking shelter in the relief camps in Moirang.
“Inspected the site for construction of pre-fabricated houses at Kwakta, Bishnupur district to address the housing needs for the people displaced by the unfortunate violence in the state. This site is one of the many temporary facilities which is being developed by the state govt to accommodate people displaced by the violence at both the hills and the valley. In this difficult times, let us take all possible steps to bring peace in Manipur for good,” CM N Biren Singh tweeted after his visit.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by PWD Minister Govindas Konthoujam, Moirang assembly constituency MLA Th Shanti, MLA Kunjakeshore and MLA Kh Loken Singh.
The CM had earlier visited the car bomb blast site in Kawkta.
