Manipur: CM N Biren lays base for several key projects in hill district Noney

With things gradually returning to normal in Manipur, Chief Minister N Biren Singh has once again embarked on a mission to bring welfare in his state particularly in the Hill district.
As part of these efforts, N Biren Singh today reached out to the people in hill district Noney by laying foundation of slew of welfare projects besides inaugurating an Open Gym.
This is the first visit of N Biren Singh to a hill district after there was flare up in the law and order situation on May 3, as part of the Go To Hills program spearheaded by the Chief Minister himself.
The Manipur Chief Minister laid the foundation for-
Construction of a Football Stadium at Khoupum
Rehabilitation and Strengthening of Bishnupur-Nungba Road
Improvement of Khoupum Sub-Divisional HQ Ring Road
Improvement of Intra-Village Roads of 7 Colonies of Gaidimjang village under Khoupum sub-division HQ
Construction of Type-II and Type-III quarters at Khoupum Police Station
Besides, Chief Minister N Biren Singh also inaugurated a Transit Quarter/Hostel at the Khangsilung Higher Secondary School in Khoupum. Prior to that the Chief Minister also inagurated the Open Gym at Khoupum which has been built under the CM’s Indigenous Martial Arts Akademi.
Taking to X, N Biren Singh said, “Pleased to inaugurate the transit Quarter/Hostel at Khangsilung Higher Secondary School and lay foundation stones of various development Projects at Khoupum, Noney District.
The success in the implementation of these projects embodies the collective efforts and aspirations of our community. As we lay the foundation stones and inaugurate the projects, let us pledge to work hand in hand, with a shared vision of progress, inclusivity, and sustainability.”
The total cost of the projects is worth Rs 196 crore.
Meanwhile, speaking on the occasion, N Biren Singh once again raised the issue of drug menace in the state and said, “Drugs have affected many lives of youths in our state widely. In a record in 2019, Manipur is in 4th Position for using Heroine Drugs all over India. So now it is the time of all the citizens of the state to support the War on Drugs as to save our youths our future generations.“
