Manipur CM inaugurates 2 key sports infra projects, bats for devp even during hard times

The Chief Minister inaugurated the Mini Sports Complex at Akampat SEYO Club Ground, Imphal East and a football field with RCC Gallery at Chajing, Wangoi Sub Division, Imphal West.

Manipur CM N Biren Singh is on a mission to bring the state out of the challenges that it has faced in the recent times and what can be more better than sports as a way to achieve peace, unity and brotherhood.

Committed to make Manipur, the sports powerhouse of the country, CM N Biren Singh today inaugurated 2 key sports infrastructures.

At first, the Chief Minister inaugurated the Mini Sports Complex at Akampat SEYO Club Ground, Imphal East which has been built at an estimated cost of Rs 20 crore.

Taking to X, the Manipur CM said, “Delighted to inaugurate the Mini Sports Complex at Akampat SEYO Club Ground, Imphal East.

The dedication and hard work of the local clubs has inspired countless others to pursue their dreams in the field of sports.

The addition of the new Hockey Turf, along with modern facilities, to the Mini Sports Complex will aspire the hockey players, providing them with the resources and support they need to hone their skills and excel in their chosen sport.

Besides, CM N Biren Singh also inaugurated a Football Field with RCC Gallery at Chajing, Wangoi Sub Division, Imphal West District under Khelo India Scheme. The football field had been constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 2.08 crore.

“Games and sports are an inherent part of Manipuri culture, and the state has been widely recognized as the Powerhouse of Sports in India.

With adequate infrastructure, facilities and proper guidance, the state can contribute more in building the country as a great sporting nation,” CM N Biren Singh mentioned in a post on X.

Recalling the hardship faced by sportspersons in the olden days due to financial constraint, informed that various welfare schemes have been introduced for sportspersons.

Worth mentioning, CM N Biren Singh has also inaugurated key infrastructure projects in the past two days which includes the launching of the Water Amusement Park at Thenguchingjin, Awang Potasangbam on March 13, followed by inauguration of the State Institute of Hotel Management at Nongmaiching, Imphal East on March 14.

As per information shared by the CMO Manipur, CM N Biren Singh during his speech on the occasion stated that the State had been passing through a rough phase due to the unprecedented conflict and added that the State Government has been working hard to bring a solution and for resettlement of affected people. He maintained that the State Government must continue taking up developmental activities even during the hard times.
