Manipur CM N Biren Singh inaugurates new sports complex in Imphal West

In a big boost to enhance sports infrastructure in Manipur, Chief Minister N Biren Singh inaugurated the Chumthang Shannapung (Sports Complex) in Imphal West yesterday.

After the inaugural event a football match between Chief Minister XI and Chumthang XI was also played.
During his address, the Manipur Chief Minister said,”This sports complex will provide a place for sports lovers and athletes to train as well as groom and produce many more talented sport players from the state.”

Reiterating his government’s commitment to make Manipur as the Sports Powehouse of the nation, N Biren Singh said,”The state government has also been providing assistance, platforms and exposure to local sports clubs to nurture and showcase their talents.

We will always support our young talents and encourage our youths to stay fit and healthy.”

Besides, the Manipur Chief Minister also informed that a new training centre equipped with state-of-the-art facilities will be constructed at Sangaithel Olympian Park shortly after following through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Samsung Electronics.
