Dimasa Students Union pays tributes to Sengya Sambudhan Phonglo

Many speakers recalled the contribution of the martyr and appealed to follow the foot prints of the Veer Sambudhan who contributed a lot to the people.
The Dimasa Students’ Union today organized the 141st Martyrs’ Day of Dimasa National Freedom Fighter of India, Veer Sengya Sambudhan Phonglo, at Haflong. Hundreds of people from various communities of Haflong paid homage to Veer Sengya Sambudhan Phonglo at Haflong on Sunday.
The day’s programme began with Mass Gathering at the Statue of Veer Sengya Sambudhan Phonglo, which was garlanded as a mark of tribute.
Many speakers recalled the contribution of the martyr and appealed to follow the foot prints of the Veer Sambudhan who contributed a lot to the people.
Uttam Langthasa of the All Dimasa Students Union said they have been observing the day to pay tribute to martyr Veer Sambudhan Phonglo for his great sacrifice. He also stated that they would appeal to the state govt to allot a portion of land in Guwahati to construct a statue of the freedom fighter so that more people would learn about him.
Langthasa also stated that Veer Sengya Sambudhan Phonglo diwas should be observed across India so that his sacrifices for the nation would be known by everyone and not just the Dimasa.
