Hectic preparations are underway in Northeast ahead of the historic Ram Mandir consecration to be held on January 22. Tripura is already agog and to mark the occasion a vibrant procession was carried out as part of pre-celebrations
Hundreds of Lord Rama devotees participated in the procession.

During the procession, the devotees, including many from the indigenous community, adorned with saffron flags and headbands, enthusiastically chanted ‘Jai Shree Ram.’ Few also dressed as characters from the Ramayana, such as Lord Rama, Laxman, Sita, and Hanuman.

The organizers emphasized that the reestablishment of Lord Rama’s idol in Ayodhya concludes a 500-year struggle, fulfilling the aspirations of countless followers of the Sanatan religion. They also urged the people to illuminate lamps and chant Lord Rama’s name on January 22, aligning with the scheduled inauguration of the Ayodhya temple. The temple is set to be inaugurated on January 22 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Even in the small state of Tripura, the anticipation for the Ram temple inauguration is palpable, with devotees from Khowai and West Tripura districts joining a lively procession at Swami Vivekananda stadium.
In Assam too the government has urged temple committeess as well as concerned stakeholders of other religious institutions to organise special events to mark the occasion. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has appealed people to light earthern lamps.
