Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed his pride in seeing Upamanyu Borkakoty impress business leaders with their passion and business acumen.

Imagine starting from the heart of Assam’s tea gardens in Sivasagar and taking on the country’s biggest entrepreneurial stage-Shark Tank India.

That’s exactly what Upamanyu Borkakoty did with his groundbreaking tea brand, Woolah Tea, which has captured the attention of both the sharks and tea enthusiasts alike.

Upamanyu has secured a Rs 50 lakh deal for his innovative, eco-friendly brand that’s set to redefine the way we experience tea.

Woolah Tea, meaning “happiness” in Assamese, is not just another tea brand it is a game changer.

With its patented green tea balls that unfurl when brewed and can be reused multiple times, Woolah blends sustainability with the finest Assam tea.

What makes it even more special? The packaging features a QR code that connects customers directly with the tea plantation where the leaves were sourced, bringing the story of the tea from the field to the cup.

Upamanyu, inspired by his uncle’s passion for tea tasting and his NGO work, has built a brand that is more than just tea it is a movement to showcase Assam’s legacy and embrace sustainability.

Borkakoty said, “Pitching to the sharks was a surreal experience. It gave me the platform to share Woolah’s story and connect with some of the brightest minds in the industry.”

Seeking Rs 50 lakh for just 1.66% equity, Woolah Tea’s pitch proves that passion and purpose can turn a small-town dream into a nationwide revolution.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who has been at the forefront of promoting Assam and attracting global investment, expressed his pride in seeing Upamanyu Borkakoty impress business leaders with their passion and business acumen.

CM Sarma highlighted how Woolah Tea, Upamanyu’s innovative tea brand, exemplifies the spirit of the #AdvantageAssam story.
