Bangladesh man rides into India on a bike right under the nose of BSF

The man reportedly passed through two checkpoints at the border outpost between Bangladesh and Karimganj district in Assam

A man from Bangladesh entered India riding a motorcycle right under the nose of BSF posted to guard the India-Bangladesh border. What is more shocking and worrisome is the fact that the man reportedly passed through at least two checkpoints at the border outpost between Bangladesh and Karimganj district in Assam.

The man’s bike bore a Sylhet (city in eastern Bangladesh) number plate.

The matter came to light when CCTV footage from outside a shop where the bike parked at Madan Mohan Road in the middle of Karimganj town caught the attention of the police. The bike has been seized but the man is nowhere to be found.

The incident has left BSF red-faced and has definitely raised a lot of eyebrows and a lot of questions about the role of the BSF posted along the India-Bangladesh border and about the larger safety and security of the nation.

While police and the BSF have launched a manhunt to nab the person, the question still remains: How did a man cross into India from Bangladesh on a bike without any security personnel or police spotting him?
