Incidents of landslides and heavy waterlogging have also been reported from different parts of Haflong town. A portion of the Haflong-Silchar road has been reportedly washed away by gushing rain water in between Miyungkhro and Harangajao.

Due to this, several vehicles have been left stranded on either sides of the road.

The railway tunnel in between New Haflong railway station and New Harangajao railway station has also been inundated by rain water.

On the other hand, a half-completed bridge over the Diyung River at Mahur was washed away due to heavy rain.

Inputs suggested that people in Mahur had repeatedly urged the authorities concerned to complete the construction of the bridge before the monsoon. However, the authorities allegedly did not pay heed to the interests of the people.
