Assam CM launches projects worth over Rs 800 cr in Majuli

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today laid the foundation stone for projects worth Rs 825 crore in Majuli.

Infrastructure development in Assam got another mega push on Sunday. After Nalbari and Biswanath, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took the Vikas mantra to Majuli today, where he laid the foundation stones for projects worth Rs 825 crore. He announced the construction of a road linking Majuli with Lakhimpur at a cost of Rs 694 crore. Sarma said the construction quality of the road will be like that of National Highways. Chief Minister Sarma also announced the construction of two bridges over the Subansiri and Lohit rivers. He announced that the Majuli University of Culture would be upgraded to a state university which will also offer regular courses in the science and arts streams.
