3 killed, 4 hurt as speeding truck rams into car in Assam’s Sonitpur

Four others including one minor were immediately rushed to the Tezpur Medical College and Hospital for better treatment.
Three people were killed and four others injured when a speeding truck rammed into a car on National Highway-15 in Assam’s Sonitpur early Sunday.
The accident took place at around 4 am, near Bhergaon Saikia village under Dhekiajuli police station when the car was on its way to Paneri in Udalguri district from Tinsukia.
The deceased have been identified as Jyotish Barek and Pooja Chap, while the identity of the third deceased is yet to be known.
Four others including one minor were immediately rushed to the Tezpur Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered and the police were further investigating the incident.
Earlier, on September 2, two persons were killed while six others were seriously injured when a car collided head on with an oncoming truck in Dibrugarh.
The car driver and a woman identified as Pushpa Sureka died in the accident.
