Arunachal Kickboxers win bronze, silver medals at Asian Kickboxing Championships 2022

Three kickboxers from Arunachal Pradesh made the nation and the state proud by winning three medals at the recently concluded Kickboxing Championships 2022 in Thailand.

The three kickboxers are–Bialok Ragit, Rajiv Ali, and Tana Tar.

Tana Tara won a bronze medal in the point fighting event in the below 63 kg category.

Meanwhile, Bialok Ragit won a silver medal and Rajiv Ali bagged a bronze medal respectively.

It may be mentioned that this is the first time Arunachal kickboxers have won medals at the Asian Championships.

As many as four kickboxers from Arunachal Pradesh had participated in the championship without any financial assistance from the government, said Kickboxing Association of Arunachal secretary Charu Govin.

Kickboxing is likely to be included as an Olympic event anytime in the near future, and Arunachal kickboxers can win medals at the world’s top sporting event if they receive proper support, Govin said.

He further said that the three kickboxers’ achievements were made possible by the association’s president, Bulang Marik, and that the Kickboxing Association of Arunachal would continue to work hard for the development and popularisation of kickboxing in the state.
