PM Modi, NE Chief Ministers congratulate Argentina

Leaders from Northeast India expressed their joy and sent congratulatory messages for Team Argentina after they defeated France by 4-2.

In what could be termed as a historic win, Argentina on Sunday defeated France in the FIFA World Cup 2022 final at Lusail by 4-2 on penalties after both teams finished at a stalemate at the end of extra time, with the scoreline reading 3-3.

Following the win, Argentina captured their third FIFA World Cup title, their first since 1986.

Meanwhile, our leaders and celebrities, who are hardcore fans of football, could not hold back from expressing their joy and poured in congratulatory messages for Team Argentina.

Prime Minister Modi, taking to Twitter, wrote, “This will be remembered as one of the most thrilling football matches!” Congrats to Argentina on becoming #FIFAWorldCup Champions! They’ve played brilliantly throughout the tournament. “Millions of Indian fans of Argentina and Messi rejoice in the magnificent victory!” @alferdez

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also expressed joy over Argentina’s win. The Chief Minister, taking to Twitter, wrote, “What a beautiful win! Felicitaciones! Argentina’s win is a reflection of a wonderful team effort led by the man himself, Lionel Messi, the atomic flea! great efforts by France as well. “The game has left us with memories to be cherished.”

A big fan of Argentina himself, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh tweeted: “No word can do justice.” “What a Final!” “Congratulations, Argentina, on winning the FIFA World Cup 2022!” France also gave their best efforts.

Meghalaya’s Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma, tweeted, “A pendulum #FIFAWorldCup finals! Congratulations #Argentina! This will go down as one of the best World Cup finals in history. great game played by France too. Congratulations to all the fans!

Union Law Minister and former Union Sports Minister, Kiren Rijiju, tweeted, “Magical Maradona must be smiling from the heavens.”

Meanwhile, Assam’s heartthrob, Zubeen Garg, an ardent football fan, also celebrated Argentina’s victory over France.
