Kiren Rijiju assured that everyone (leaders) will get responsibilities in different positions to serve the party as well as the people.

In a big political development, the BJP leadership has reached out the ‘unhappy’ leaders who have been denied party tickets for the ensuing Lok Sabha as well as the Arunachal Pradesh Assembly elections.

Union Minister and a top BJP leader from Arunachal Pradesh and the Northeast, Kiren Rijiju, quoting party leadership, urged the disgruntled ticket aspirants not to jump ship and contest the elections against the party’s official candidates.

Rijiju said this after a core party meeting focussing on the elections ahead, was held in Itanagar today. The meeting was the first ever since the Saffron party announced its candidates for the 2 Lok Sabha and 60 assembly seats in the state.

The development comes amid reports doing the rounds that at least 3 sitting BJP MLAs who were denied tickets this time might join other parties and contest the elections.

Rijiju in his message to the leaders said, “Those who did not get tickets and whoever had applied for a BJP ticket, it is an appeal to them from us (BJP) that they do not fight elections against the party and support the party’s official candidate. Because the party ticket is not decided by only one person, it is decided by the party. But for us everyone is equal. Those who got tickets they are also our very own and whoever failed to get a ticket is also the same.”

Rijiju assured that everyone will get responsibilities in different positions to serve the party as well as the people.

Rijiju said, “In my view everyone is equal and after formation of the government everyone will be given responsibilities, it may be different but everyone will get a responsibility.”

Meanwhile, the Arunachal BJP leadership today held it’s first meeting after the declaration of candidates for the Lok Sabha and the Assembly elections.

Regarding the meeting Rijiju said, ” Today’s meeting was held regarding elections to the 2 Lok Sabha seats and the 60 Assembly seats. We discussed on the rules and regulations from the election perspective and how a standard election can be conducted. The message is that nobody violates the election rules and regulations. We discussed on some points as to how the BJP will reach out to the people. Talks also focused on taking the Modi wave among the masses and also on how to make Pema Khandu the CM for the 2nd consecutive term.”
