Going by the decomposed nature of his body, it is being suspected that Rupam Goswami died around 2 days ago
The body of a man has been recovered from the Lachit Nagar area of Guwahati. According to information received, the person was living alone in his apartment for quite some time. His wife did not live with him and his only son is studying in Bangalore.
Neighbours became alarmed when the person identified as Rupam Goswami did not respond to phone calls and knocks on his door. After that they decided to go inside the house where they found his body lying on the floor.
A resident of the area, speaking to the media said, “He was a businessman by profession and rented out a lot of houses. He stayed alone on one side of the apartment. The rest of it was occupied by people living on rent. Today morning some of the renters, getting suspicious as there was no activity in the house, called him and knocked on his door to which he did not respond. They then decided to forcefully enter the house where Goswami’s body was found lying on the floor. “
The cause of his death is still unknown.
This is not the first instance of such a case in the city. Previously on November 30, the body of a young woman from Meghalaya was found under mysterious circumstances in Guwahati’s Hatigaon area.
In another similar incident another body of a young woman was recovered from her rented apartment in Hengerabari locality of Guwahati.
