The ZPM leadership has said that the party would rather prefer to sit in the Oppositon than going for alliance with any party

The ZPM has ruled out any alliance with any party post elections to form the government in case it falls short of numbers. Zoram People’s Movement’s (ZPM) working president K Sapdanga said that they would rather sit in the opposition then enter into any alliance.
Speaking to Northeast Live, Sapdanga said, “On our own we will try to form the government, a single party government, we never thought of a coalition government. We will never form a coalition government with other party, we never focused to form coalition government with other party.
There are some contesting party like the BJP, Congress and even the MNF party also, we will not form the coalition government because we will try to get the clear majority.”
Asked further, as to what the ZPM will do if it does not get the majority, Sapdanga said, “We never think of a hung assembly. We are trying to form a single party government. Even the people also are trying to form the single party government.”
Responding to what ZPM will do if the numbers fall short of majority, he said, “Then we will be in the Opposition. We will play the role of an Opposition. I hope we will get a clear majority.”
Sapdanga rubbished reports of BJP and ZPM entering into a secret deal and termed it as a blatant lie. He said, “Not at all, not at all, that is a big lie. It is not necessary to explain that big lie.”
Pinning hopes that the ZPM will get a majority, Sapdanga said that the ruling MNF may be the biggest Opposition party in the coming elections.
