Arunachal: Civil Aviation Minister reviews centrally sponsored schemes in Metaliang village, interacts with locals

Union Minister for Civil Aviation and Steel, Jyotiraditya Scindia, who was on in Tezu in Eastern Arunachal’s Lohit district today to inaugurate the newly built infrastructure at the Tezu Airport, visited Metaliang village under the Tezu-Sunpura legislative assembly constituency and took stock of the implementation of various centrally sponsored schemes like MG-NREGA, Jal Jeevan Mission, PMGSY, PMAY, Lift Water Tank under JJM, and Plantation under MGNREGA, etc. in the village.
He also interacted with the villagers and visited their homes in a very informal way, much to the appreciation of the public.
Speaking to Northeast Live after his visit, the Union Minister said, “Metaliang is not a small village. Metaliang Village is a symbol of the heart of India, and what Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always exemplified is that India will rise from the villages and from the strength of the people.”
He added that through schemes like PM Awaz Yojana, PM Ayushman Card, Har Ghar Nal, Jal Jeevan Mission, plantation schemes, crop schemes, irrigation, etc., the Government of India is preparing for the future of India.
Further, he expressed that he is touched by the energy that he has received from the people of Metaliang village.
“As I leave Metaliang village, I carry a little bit of Metaliang village with me on my life’s journey. It has been a privilege and honour for me to have spent time with Shanti ji (local resident) and Barkom ji (local resident), hear their stories and how these schemes have changed their lives, and that gives us in government the courage and the inspiration to carry on and make sure that we serve the length and breadth of India under the leadership of PM Modi, “he added.
Earlier in the day, the Union Minister inaugurated the newly built infrastructure at the Tezu Airport in Lohit district.
Set up at a cost of Rs 170 crore, the airport will serve as an important link to augment trade and commerce, agriculture, as well as serve defense purposes whenever the need arises.
