At 70.32%, Nagaland schools record highest pass percentage in HSLC exams in 6 years

Girls were far ahead of boys in the HSLC examination 2023 results announced today
The results for the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination conducted by the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) have been declared today. The total pass percentage has been recorded at 70.32%, the highest in the last 6 years.
The pass percentages during the five previous examinations were 64.69% (2022), 69.42% (2021), 70.03% (2020), 68.29% (2019), and 66.01% (2018).
A total of 24,361 candidates appeared in the exams, of which 17,130 cleared the examination. 9,350 girls and 7,780 boys have cleared the examination.
Girls outperformed boys in the HSLC examination 2023.
In the top 20 list, there are 99 candidates out of which 33 are boys and the rest 66 are girls.
140 schools secured 100% qualified/pass percentage. Out of which, 112 are private schools and 28 are government schools. This year, 24 government-run schools have received zero or no results.
The number of candidates who secured 80% and above in aggregate is 2716 out of which, 61 candidates are from government schools.
In terms of district-wise performance for government schools, Kohima district topped the table with a percentage of 73% followed by Mokokchung and Phek districts at 70% and 63%. Shamator district is at the bottom with 6%.
Among the private schools, Noklak district is at the top with a percentage of 97% followed by Kohima at 94%.
Of the 26 candidates with special needs, 17 of qualified for the examination while 9 of them got Needs Improvement results.
The HSLC Examinations 2023 were held from March 10 to 22 March 2023.
