HM Amit Shah postpones May 11 Assam visit due to Manipur situation

The Union Home Minister will now visit Assam on May 26 and hand over 50,000 appointment letters as part of the 2nd-anniversary celebrations of the Himanta Biswa Sarma government
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has postponed his scheduled visit to Assam because of the unrest in Manipur.
The Union Home Minister who was supposed to visit Assam on May 11 will now visit the state on May 26 and distribute 50,000 appointment letters for government jobs, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said today.
The CM said that the Home Minister had to postpone his visit as he is keeping a close watch on the Manipur situation.
Following the postponement of HM Shah’s visit to the state, the Assam government has postponed its mega appointment letter distribution programme.
As per the earlier plan, HM Shah would have handed over appointment letters for 50,000 government posts on May 11 as part of the second anniversary celebrations of the Himanta Biswa Sarma led BJP government in Assam.
