As per SP Tirap, Kardak Riba, Roksen has been arrested from the Bogapani area in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh, where he was hiding

In a big breakthrough, security forces have arrested the escaped self-styled private militant Roksen Homcha during a search operation carried out in the wee hours of Monday.

As per SP Tirap, Kardak Riba, Roksen has been arrested from the Bogapani area in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh, where he was hiding.

Tirap DC Hento Karga told Northeast Live that the main accused of the Arunachal Jail break, Roksen Homcha, was arrested around 1.30 am today and that they had also recovered the AK-47 series rifle that Homcha took while fleeing.

The DC further thanked the Tirap SP, Kardak Riba, under whom the operation was carried out, as well as all the members of the special task force team, paramilitary forces, and the Arunachal government for their support.

Roksen Homcha, a hardcore NSCN (K) Nikki Sumi faction member and former Khonsa Jail inmate, fled from the Khonsa Jail on March 26 evening during a daring jailbreak after killing an IRBN constable Wangniam Bosai, and critically injuring another.

Another accomplice of Homcha, Tipu Kitnya, is still at large.

Earlier on March 30, the Arunachal government had announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh each for the informer about the two escaped militants. A judicial probe was also ordered into the jailbreak.
