Nagaland: Two persons kidnapped from residence of NPF’S Tizit candidate

With barely a week left for the Assembly elections in Nagaland, the situation is not getting any better. Two persons were allegedly kidnapped from the residence of a Naga People’s Front (NPF) candidate by unknown miscreants in Mon district on Tuesday, as per media reports.
As per reports, the two persons are not NPF members but were staying at the residence NPF candidate of the 41 Tizit assembly constituency Tahwang Angh.
A vehicle was also set ablaze in the same area where the kidnapping took place, said police.
However, one person was later released by the kidnappers while a search operation is underway to rescue the other, said reports.
Police have registered a case against the matter and are hopeful of making some arrests soon.
Assembly elections for 59 seats in Nagaland will be held on 27 February and the counting of votes is scheduled on March 2.
