NSCN K(YA) under the president-ship of Yung Aung have not yet discussed and decided to sign any ceasefire with the GoI
The NSCN-K Yung Aung faction on Friday told Northeast Live that that even if NSCN-IM and the NNPGs finds a solution the NSCN-K (YA) will not surrender and it will continue to fight and pursue for Naga sovereignty. It said NSCN-K (YA) is firm on its stand and will not sell the rights and sovereignty of the Naga people.
“We stand by our government and the word from our late leader SS.Khaplang and our present leadership Yung Aung. The ones who are breaking away from factions let them break away, the factions holding talks with GoI (Government of India), let them hold talks but NSCN-K (YA) is firm on its stand that is, we will never surrender and we will never sell the sovereignty or the rights of the Naga people. We will continue to fight for our Naga sovereignty,” NSCN-K (YA) Kilonser and Chairman of Konyak Region, Khampei said.
Khampei, said the NSCN K (YA) is not interested nor have any complaints or anything to comment on the ongoing peace talks between the GoI and the Naga political groups led by NSCN IM General Secretary Th Muivah.
Asked whether the NSCN-K YA will join ceasefire with the GoI, he said that the NSCN K(YA) under the Presidentship of Yung Aung have not yet discussed and decided to sign any ceasefire with the GoI.
He said, the civil societies including the Konyak Union have been appealing them to come forward for peace however, he said this decision has to be taken in the highest level i.e., Cabinet and all the appeals made by the civil societies are being forwarded to their central government.
Meanwhile, with regard to the ENPO demand for a separate state, he stated that this is not the first time they are supporting the demand of the ENPO. Recalling what the then President late SS Khaplang said, Khampei said that ENPO has the right to demand for a separate statehood and it has nothing to do with the Naga issue. Even if ENPO demand is granted the NSCN K(YA) demand for Naga sovereignty will not come to an end.
