SAYO, Nagaland & NMSYO, Manipur hold ‘Affirmation of Brotherhood’ programme at Kisama Village

The programme was organised to discuss the boundary issue in Kezoltsa between Nagaland and Manipur states as well as for the desire to keep the relationship and friendship alive

The Southern Angami Youth Organisation (SAYO), Nagaland and the Northern Maram Students’ & Youth Organization (NMSYO), Manipur, today held the ‘Affirmation of Brotherhood’ programme at Angami Youth Organisation Monolith at Kisama Village in Nagaland and discussed the boundary issue in Kezoltsa between Nagaland and Manipur, said SAYO President Metekhriele Mejura.

In his brief address at the event, he also stated that the goal of the gathering is to strengthen the bonds of friendship that now exist between the two regions and foresee future generations by getting to know one another better and understanding one another more deeply on a personal, individual, and group level.

P.Kraibo Francis, President of NMSYO, noted that this day was significant for the young people in the two regions. He always maintained that the two regions’ ties would be further strengthened in the future.

It may be mentioned that the Southern Angami Public Organization (SAPO) in Kohima and Maram Khullen Senapati in Manipur reaffirmed their age-old brotherhood accord at Zhodi ground in Jakhama village, Kohima last year.

The gesture of the forefathers of the two communities dates back to 1926 by holding the brotherhood meeting at Viswema village under SAPO area.

Subsequently, the two communities had mutually agreed to support each other in the issue of the safety and overall well-being of their people.

The two communities after several rounds of talks in Kohima and Maram had unanimously decided to reaffirm their brotherhood and signed an accord on August 27, 2021, at Maram in order to fortify the brotherhood between the two communities.
