Days after an uneasy calm prevailed aftermath the Mukroh firing incident, a petrol bomb was hurled at a residence in Bangalipara in Mawbah. As per eyewitnesses, two unidentified miscreants hurled the petrol bomb that hit a tree before landing at the premises of the house.
However, no damage or injury was reported in the incident. Meghalaya BJP president Ernest Mawrie rushed to the spot and condemned the incident in strongest terms. Mawrie also appealed the police to come up with a strong way to patrol the Mawprem constituency and requested the DGP to form a special team in this regard. The government must take strong action. “If they cant take action, they must write to the MHA, appeal the MHA to keep the Army for patrolling here.”

Speaking on the recent incidents of violence including police personnel being beaten, Ernest Mawrie slammed Home Minister Lahkmen Rymbui and said, “Why he is silent? He should come out with a statement. He has to push out the morality of the force. Very unfortunate. Even the common people they are beating the police. This is very unfortunate, which is condemnable. And I want to once again appeal to the government to call a meeting with the Home Minister, DGP and all the police.
