Nagaland: School Edu dept to impose no work, no pay principle

Thavasaleen informed that the department is taking note of the teacher’s attendance, and will be imposing the no work, no pay principle.

At a time when the ad hoc teachers in the state are agitating for their regularisation, Principal Director of School Education Thavaseelan K has reiterated that regularisation of the 1,166 Ad hoc teachers is not possible due to a court standing order.

Addressing media persons’ yesterday, Thavasaleen informed that the department is taking note of the teacher’s attendance, and will be imposing the no work, no pay principle.

Thavaseelan also cautioned that if the agitation continues then the department will have to start issuing show cause notices to the agitating teachers. He added that if the protest continues, the department will have to resort to further disciplinary action.

Meanwhile, responding to the allegation made by the Ad Hoc teachers concerning the regularisation of service taking place in departments like Youth resources, PWD, and Home department, Thavasaleen said that while no such document has been received from the Youth Resource department, what is happening in the PWD and home department are not exactly cases of regularisation.
