In what comes as a major development concerning the sensational death of Nagaland’s Rosy Sangma in Gurugram, the Central Bureau of Investigation or the CBI registered a case of gross negligence by the Gurugram private hospital.

The investigation agency, on the directions of the Union Home Ministry, has also registered a case of negligence against Managing Director of Alfa Health Care Dr Anuj Bisnoi and dentist Anjali Ashk in connection with Rosy’s death on June 24 last year.

It may be mentioned here that Rosy, who was a GoAir air-hostess and a resident of Dimapur, died after doctors allegedly fed her ice cream while she was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital.

A day later, her nephew Samuel, who suspected foul play in Rosy’s death, was found hanging in his room. And what followed what protests across the northeast.

The Home Ministry had directed a CBI probe into the matter, based on a complaint from MP Agatha Sangma.

According to the CBI, Rosy Sangma had suffered pain in both hands and right leg, following which She was brought by her two brothers and nephew Samuel Sangma to the Alfaa Health Care Hospital in Sector-10, Basai Road in Gurgaon.

The FIR further stated that Rosy quote unquote died due to the negligence on the part of Dr Anuj Bisnoi and Dr Anjali Ashk.

Additionally, it has been highlighted that Dr Anjali Ashk, who treated Rosy Sangma, was a dentist and had no knowledge of gynaecology issues. The FIR stated that a gynaecologist was not called for six hours and Dr Anuj Bisnoi entered the hospital for the first time at 10.26 am on June 24 even though he was informed of admitting a serious patient in his hospital at 6 am.

Further, the CBI FIR states, Dr Anuj Bishnoi prepared a discharge card in which he mentioned suspected poisoning or a foul play, and referred her to higher centre, when in reality, he did not refer her to civil hospital or higher centre for further treatment.
