As the country struggles with the second wave of Coronavirus, Assam on Monday registered its biggest-ever single-day spike this year, with over 1,300 positive cases.

As many as 1,367 COVID-19 positive cases have been detected out of 65,410 tests conducted in the last 24 hours. The positivity rate was recorded at 2.09 percent.

Of the fresh COVID-19 cases, 482 cases have been reported from Kamrup Metro district alone.

Taking to Twitter, Himanta Biswa Sarma informed, “Summary of 19/4/2021 Today’s Total 1367 Overall Positivity Percentage (1367 cases out of 65410 test done = 2.09%) Kamrup(M) 482.”

In another tweet, Sarma informed that a total of 16,66,550 beneficiaries have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in the state so far.

With Assam administering 67,139 doses of vaccines today, the state has over 5 lakh vaccines available in stock at the current level of vaccination.
