Union Home Minister Amit Shah has called Ceasefire Monitoring Group chairman Lt Gen (Retd) AS Bedi to the national capital to discuss the progress of the ceasefire between the Centre and NSCN-K led by Niki Sumi.
According to highly placed sources, the Ceasefire Monitoring Group chairman is scheduled to meet Niki Sumi on Wednesday, February 3, after which he will be leaving for New Delhi to meet Home Minister Amit Shah.
The NSCN-K had earlier announced a ceasefire on December last year and said that it contacted the central government for initiating peace dialogue.
