Manipur: Contraband items worth Rs 3.30 crore seized in Moreh

Acting on a tip-off, a team of 43 Assam Rifles and Moreh Police including Women Assam Rifles raided a house at Moreh Ward No 3 and recovered contraband items worth Rs 3.30 crore.

The security personnels detained a husband-wife duo identified as Ngura Sailo and Sangi Sailo from the site on charges of possessing contraband items.

During the raid at the house of Sangi Sailo, police recovered 97 soap caps of suspected brown sugar weighing 1.164 kgs, 100 packets of Amphetamine tablets and 20,000 pieces of WY tablets.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered at the Moreh Police station for further legal proceedings.
