At a time when the Assam Government has offered the olive branch to ULFA-I, C-in-C Paresh Baruah for the first time in recent years to join the peace process. The ULFA-I chief in an exclusive conversation over the phone with the Managing Editor of our group channel News Live, Zarir Hussain said the outfit is ready for discussion given the core issue of sovereignty remains the prime agenda for the talks.
Significantly, Baruah added that in a Democracy like India, there is always room for discussion and the ULFA-I may be ready for talks if the core issue is addressed at the negotiating table. Baurah said there should be one-point agenda for the talks.
He reiterated that logic should be the base for all discussion. Indicating that there can be several solutions to a problem Baruah said the negotiators should not shy away from logic.
Baruah reiterated that there is no question of a communication gap and there was no communication gap earlier also. The ULFA-I chief added that the core issue remains that of sovereignty and sovereignty in itself reigns supreme as the issue.
