Accident or Murder? Suspicion Grows Over Young Woman’s Death in Sivasagar

Tension gripped the Ranghar Chariali Dhuliapara area of Sivasagar districtof Assam after the mysterious death of a young woman.

The deceased has been identifed as Mousumi Sultana.

Locals and her family members have raised serious allegations, claiming that Mousumi was brutally assaulted and murdered by her husband, Sahil Hazarika, and mother-in-law, Eliza Begum, who then tried to pass it off as an accident.

Speaking to the media, Mousumi’s sister revealed a disturbing sequence of events.

“There was a fight at home, and her husband called our mother asking her to take Mousumi back as they no longer wanted to keep her. In the background, Mousumi cried out, ‘Take me home, they beat me so much.’ Shortly after, her mother-in-law called again and said Mousumi had fallen from her scooty and died,” she said.

According to local, Mousumi had been subjected to frequent domestic abuse since her marriage two years ago.

On the day of the incident, she was allegedly beaten severely at her in-laws’ residence.

Locals claim she was then thrown onto the road in an attempt to make her injuries appear as the result of a road accident.

Mousumi was rushed to Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh, where she succumbed to her injuries.

The victim’s family has demanded a thorough investigation into the case, alleging that this was a clear case of murder which they are trying to make it look like an accident.
