The organisation also strongly opposed the recent proposal to form the Eastern Naga Unemployed Youth Front.
The Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) has called for decisive action from the Government of India ahead of the much-anticipated tripartite meeting on January 15. In a press release, ENPO said that its delegation must accept nothing short of executive, legislative, and financial autonomy as part of the solution to the long-standing demands of the Eastern Nagas.
Highlighting the roots of the Frontier Nagaland Territory (FNT) movement as a creation of the GoI, ENPO urged the Ministry of Home Affairs to take immediate steps in providing a clear stance on the matter. ” The MHA on behalf of the GoI must table the clarity of its stance in resolving the Historical and Political aspirations of the Eastern Nagas without further delay,” it added.
The organisation also strongly opposed the recent proposal to form the Eastern Naga Unemployed Youth Front.
In its appeal to the people of Eastern Nagaland, the ENPO stressed the importance of pursuing the Frontier Nagaland Territory (FNT) demand through democratic means. ” The ENPO appeals to all Eastern Nagas that FNT should be pursued and anticipated democratically,” it said.
A 13-member ENPO delegation led by A Chingmak Chang will attend the today’s second tripartite meet with the Centre and Nagaland government delegations at the police guest house in Chumoukedima. The crucial meeting will begin at 11 am. Special adviser, MHA, AK Mishra will lead the 3-member central team in the meet. Mishra has already arrived in Dimapur to attend the meet.
