Janata Dal (United) National Secretary Sanjay Verma said that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s party will contest the Mizoram assembly polls slated for November 28 against the ruling Congress.
Sanjay Verma arrived in Mizoram to chalk out poll strategies. Verma would be meeting JD(U) Mizoram unit leaders and other tribal leaders in the State and look for prospective candidates for the party.
Verma alleged that the ruling Congress has not fulfilled the people’s needs and have failed on all fronts. He said the JD(U) will contest election on grounds of law, justice, harmony and social development.
He also claimed that the entire Northeastern States have shown faith in the leadership of Nitish Kumar and the party has grown tremendously in the region.
Verma further said the decision regarding number of seats the party would contest in Mizoram and whether it would go alone or forge alliance with parties would be decided later.
