AYO Seeks Explanation from NSCN (K) Khango for Death Penalty to an Angami Contractor

The Angami Youth organization has also resolved to extend non-cooperation to the Khango group of the NSCN (K) till such time the matter is resolved between the two sides.

There is a sensation in Nagaland’s Kohima region, the heartland of the Angami tribe, following the death penalty issued to an Angami contractor by the Khango group of the NSCN-(K).

The Angami youth organization held an emergency meeting attended by representatives of all its four affiliated organisations and adopted a four-point resolution demanding an explanation from the NSCN(K) Khango group on the ground and circumstances that has warranted the rebel group to issue capital punishment to KKB Rulho, the Angami contractor.

The Angami Youth organization has also resolved to extend non-cooperation to the Khango group of the NSCN (K) till such time the matter is resolved between the two sides.

Earlier, the Angami youth organization had invited the rebel faction for discussions on the matter but the NSCN(K) Khango group did not respond within the deadline of 25th July.

The Angami youth organization during its meeting reaffirmed its standing resolution of 1993 that the Angamis will not entertain taxation by any Naga rebel group until they merge as one.

According to the Angami youth organization, the contractor who is a prominent member of the Angami community, received death threats over the phone by an individual from the NSCN-(K) Khango group on 20th July and wanted him to pay a certain amount of tax within 15 days.
