Naga bodies express happiness on reports of NSCN-K bid to join peace talks

The Naga Tribes Council and the Naga Hoho have welcomed the NSCN-K move to consider joining the peace process with the government of India in the wake of a split in the outfit.

Talking to Northeast Live NTC president Theja Therie said it is a welcome move and can go a long way in restoring permanent peace.

Naga Hoho president Chuba Ozukum also shared similar sentiments and expressed hapiness over the NSCN-K move.

Achumbemo Kikon, spokesperson of the opposition NPF said it’s important that the NSCN-K too joins the peace talks.

Earlier following a split in the NSCN-K, the outfit’s faction led by Khango Konyak has reportedly expressed interest in joining the peace process with the government of India.

The move is significant as the centre has for long tried to involve the NSCN-K in the peace talks.
