Nagaland: 25-year-old missing after being swept away by Dzuvuru Stream in Nagaland

A 25-year-old boy has been missing for 5 days after being washed away by strong currents at Dzuvuru Stream in Kohima district of Nagaland on June 27.
The missing boy has been identified as Rendemo Odyou, a resident of Kohima and a student of Government Polytechnic College, Atoizu.
As per inputs, Odyou and his friend visited the stream area below Lower AG in Kohima district for a picnic on June 27. During heavy rainfall, they sought shelter and spotted a hut across the stream. While attempting to cross, the victim was swept away by the current.
Although the incident occurred on June 27 at approximately 4:00 p.m., the information wasn’t made public until June 28. A search and rescue operation for Odyou began on the morning of June 29.
A team of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Nagaland GIS, and Police Department, under the aegis of the District Disaster Management Authority, Kohima, along with local villagers, have been deployed for the search and rescue operation from the incident site to Gariphema Basa.
Today marks 5 days, and there is still no trace of the missing boy.
Search operations for today have been called off and will resume tomorrow morning.
