Lalduhoma became the second CM of Mizoram to receive this honour after Lal Thanhawla

A Chief Minister is always seen accompanied by fast cars, bodyguards and high security etc. But, imagine a Chief Minister walking around without any protection or bodyguards.

Well, Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma who is a former IPS officer can actually handle his safety in a very different way through his martial arts prowess.

CM Lalduhoma yesterday revealed a surprising side of himself as he earned a taekwondo black belt.

In appreciation of the popularity of taekwondo in Mizoram, Seoul-based KUKKI-WON, the apex body of Korean martial art taekwondo yesterday, conferred an honorary black belt on CM Lalduhoma at the CM’s office in Aizawl.

CM Lalduhoma was awarded an honorary 7th Dan black belt along with a certificate of appreciation.

After receiving the honour, CM Lalduhoma said, “The reason I am being conferred this black belt is due to the exemplary performances of the Mizoram Amateur Taekwondo Association, our fighters’ success at the national level, and their efforts in popularising the sport in Mizoram. I am delighted and wish them all the best in their future endeavours.”

Notably, he is the second CM of Mizoram to receive this honour after Lal Thanhawla, who was awarded the same title by KUKKIWON in 2012, reports HC Vanlalruata.
