Meenakshi's journey so far is not only a mere task for setting records, but it is something which will surely inspire everyone on how to fulfil one's ambitions even if

Soaked in the spirit of adventure and determination, Meenakshi Das hailing from Guwahati, is on a journey to realise her ambition- becoming the first woman to complete a solo bike ride across the globe.

Exhibiting her sheer passion and resilience to achieve the goal, Meenakshi has already traveresed 28 countries in her bike, out of the total 67 nations that she intends to cover.

Meenakshi, a fitness trainer and avid biker, embarked on her journey last December. Presently she is in the United Kingdom, where she is awaiting a response from visa authorities to extend her Schengen visa. Initially planning to travel to Switzerland from Germany, Meenakshi had to detour to the UK due to her visa expiration.

Meenakshi updated her status via a post in her social media account and informed that on May 26, she will be reaching Dublin, capital of Ireland.

In the video message she said, “On 26th May Sunday I will be staying at Dublin. I met many people from Assam staying in many countries including UK and other nations, I have received a lot of love and blessings so far. They have welcomed me so heartily. That’s why my journey so far has been successful. I never knew that there are lots of Assamese people in Dublin too. So I am quite excited about my visit. I look forward to meet many of them. I will be staying at the Louis Fitzgerald Hotel. Anyone who wants to me, I am inviting them to come at 5:30 pm. I will be glad to meet everyone. I hope that I will be able to meet someone for sure.”

During her stay in the United Kingdom, Meenakshi met Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s elder brother, Jayanta Biswa Sarma who is a resident in New Castle. In a video posted by Meenakshi, Jayanta Biswa Sarma said, “We never thought that we will meet You in our home. By riding a bike with a number plate of Assam in it, you have crossed nearly 30 countries, you have suddenly reached New Castle. It is so good. You have a long journey ahead. You will be going to Europe, than Russia, China before entering Assam. What you have done will certainly inspire others a lot. It is not about inspiring others to ride a bike, but you have done such a thing that seems to be really impossible for many of us. So on behalf of every Assamese staying in New Castle as well as in entire UK, I wish you all the very best for your future endeavours.”

Equipped with only two sets of riding gear and a few thick jackets and clothes, Meenakshi’s journey is far from a leisurely holiday. She is driven by a passion for adventure, a desire to meet new people, and an eagerness to learn new things.

Traveling on a tight budget, she saves as much as possible for fuel, sometimes even sacrificing meals. Her rigorous training as a fitness trainer has prepared her for the physical demands of long-distance riding.
