The act of bravery has been reported from Chhippui village located on the Mizoram-Bangladesh border in Mamit district.

In a heartwarming display of courage and quick thinking, a girl named Lalbiakthangi bravely rescued a 4-year-old boy from a raging fire in Mizoram.

The act of bravery has been reported from Chhippui village located on the Mizoram-Bangladesh border in Mamit district.

Lalbiakmawii, mother of four-year-old boy Jacob Laldinsanga was out meeting a neighbour leaving him alone in the house on Friday evening, when the fire broke out at around 6:45 pm, reported Times of India.

Lalbiakthangi, who lives nearby, was the first to notice the flames. She rushed to the house but was unable to enter through the front door.

Suspecting a child was inside, she climbed through a small window and rescued four-year-old Laldinsanga. The house was totally ravaged by fire, said the Times of India report.

The secretary of the Chhippui branch of the Young Mizo Association (MIA) said that Lalbiakthangi was unable to come out of the house due to the window’s small size as she had the boy with her.

She then started crying for help, when her mother Remi heard her cries and rushed to the scene.

Together, they managed to get the boy out through the window. And Lalbiakthangi also managed to crawl out of the window without sustaining major burn injuries.
