In a clear and loud message, Union Home Minister Amit Shah today affirmed that the Centre under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his 3rd term would restore complete peace and normalcy in Manipur without dividing the state.

Shah maintained that it was one of the top priorities of Prime Minister Modi to restore permanent peace through talks with all concerned stakeholders.

Sharing stage with Manipur CM N Biren Singh, during an election rally to to drum up support for Manipur (Inner) Lok Sabha BJP candidate Th Basanta Kumar Singh, Amit Shah said, “In the last few days, a few incidents of violence have been reported. I want to tell everyone in the Plains and Hills, that in the days to come, Narendra Modi’s priority is to keep Manipur intact and bring peace through talks with everyone.”

The Union Home Minister in a significant statement and a direct attack on the Congress said that the ensuing Lok Sabha elections are not a fight between the BJP and the grand old party.

Shah feels that it is a fight against divisive forces and affirmed that no one will be allowed to divide Manipur.

He said, “This election is not between the BJP and the Congress, but this elections in between those who speak about dividing Manipur and those who want to keep Manipur intact. Wherever the Congress goes, the party speaks about division. They divided the nation and still leaders of the Congress want to divide the nation in terms of North and South. An agenda has also been created here, this is about dividing Manipur. But I want to tell, no one has the guts to divide Manipur, we will not allow anyone to divide Manipur.”

The Union Home Minister also higlighted about the Centre’s untiring efforts to protect and safeguard Manipur from anti-national elements. Amit Shah said that efforts were being made to change the demography of Manipur, for which the Centre has already done the needful.

“I know that through influx there are attempts being made to change the demography of the state. The Narendra Modi government has decided to fence the border along Myanmar, we will surely safeguard Manipur. Free Movement Regime (FMR) was misused for trafficking, narcotics trade, and than we decided to stop FMR with Myanmar,” Amit Shah said.

Slamming the Congress for alleged misrule during its regime, Shah said, “PM Modi in the last 10 years has not only worked for developing the nation but has also worked towards safeguarding the nation.
The initiative bring peace in Northeast which was in the grip of insurgency and separatism for 75 years was done by PM Modi.

Congress never honoured the sentiments of Manipur, there was blockade for thousands of days in Manipur, there was 3 years of shutdown in Manipur, and killing hundreds of innocent people or fake encounters happened during the Ibobi Singh government. Over 750 were killed during clash between Nagas and Kukis, 100 dead in Meitei-Pangal clashes, and more than 300 people lost their lives in clashes between Kukis and Paiteis.”

Shah further emphasised on the fact that Northeast and Manipur are the emerging growth engines of the country and said, “Modi ji believes that the country will progress when the Northeast progresses. India will become Viksit when Manipur will become Viksit.”
