Will the God Factor be the key aspect for the upcoming Lok Sabha Election in the state of Nagaland?
Though there is only one Lok Sabha seat in the state, the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) has decided to go with the spirit of belief and faith on the Almighty, this election.
The main motto being- to bring the right leaders who will solely work for the progress and welfare for the people.
Believe it or not, for this the NBCC has called for 152 hours Chain of Prayer starting from 12 April.
NBCC general secretary Rev Dr Zelhou Keyho in a statement said, “The leaders we are going to put in the leadership position for the country will make policies and chart the way the nation will move forward for the next five years to come. They will affect the country, the region, the state, the community, the family, the faith base organization and the church.”
Mentioning about the God Factor, the NBCC general secretary maintained that it is not meant for any individual or any political party.
Zelhou Keyho’s statement read, “We need the “GOD FACTOR” this time around as we pray for the coming election. Our call for prayer is not to pray for any particular political party to be elected. Our prayer is not to target individual person as well. But we pray that God will move their conscience, from evil design to doing good for the nation. Our prayer is for God to intervene in bringing the right leaders who will progressively lead the nation.”
While pointing out that people have lost trust on the existing system, the NBCC further said, “This time around, as we pray for our nation and our state, let us make GOD as the factor. The God factor perhaps, is the one we have been missing very badly in our situation.”
