In a significant development, the Supreme Court in an interim order directed all political parties in the country to submit details of donations received through Electoral Bonds in sealed covers to the Election Commission of India.

The apex court, in a bid to bring in transparency into the electoral process has asked the political parties to give details of donors, amounts received from them besides information on payment received against every bond.

The top court has set May 30 as the deadline for submission of details to the election commission.
