Sudip Roy Barman makes big revelation. The Cong leader says his party is in touch with TIPRA MOTHA. Big development ahead of 2023 polls.

Tripura Congress leader Sudip Roy Barman has lashed out at the state government for allegedly delaying the delaying the elections to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council or the TTAADC.

Speaking to Northeast Live, Barman said that Tripura is reeling under Constitutional crisis.

Accusing the BJP of resorting to authoritarian rule, Sudip Roy Barman alleged that the government is deliberately .

According to Barman, the BJP is doing so to avoid the ‘sure shot loss’ of the Saffron Party in the TTAADC village committee elections and seeks to by-pass the local polls.

If that was not all, Sudip Roy Barman also alleged that the BJP can legalize everything which is illegal since it is in power.

Apart from this, Barman also alleged that the TTAADC elections were postponed citing the COVID crisis, whereas by-polls and civic body polls were held which according to him was rigged.

As tribals constitute over one third of Tripura’s four million population and with 20 tribal reserved seats in the 60-member Assembly, the indigenous people always played a very vital role in the electoral politics.

Harping on the issue of “Greater Tipraland”, the TIPRA Motha defeated the CPI-M led Left Front, the BJP and the Congress in the elections to the TTAADC in 2021 and emerged as one of the major political forces.

In Tripura’s 20 tribal reserved seats and in 10 Scheduled Caste reserved seats, the CPI-M led Left parties had been traditionally the strongholds.

Speaking on the creation of an anti-BJP front, Sudip Roy Barman said that his party is in close contact with TIPRA Motha chief Pradyot Kishore Debbarma to give shape to such an dispensation.

However, both the Congress and the TIPRA Motha are yet to formally sit and deliberate on the future course of action. The Congress leader maintained that his party will do everything taking onboard every other like minded party to safeguard the democracy.
