Permission to extend the sit-in-dharna has not been approved by the district magistrate
The 4-day sit-in protest called by the Pan Arunachal Joint Steering Committee (PAJSC) demanding reforms in the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) concluded today. However, permission to extend the sit-in-dharna has not been approved by the district magistrate or superintendent police of Itanagar.
Speaking to Northeast Live, PAJSC Vice Chairman, Tadak Nalo said, “Our sit-in dharna is going on and to date government has not responded to anything. We are hopeful that the government will fulfil their responsibility and resolve the issue as soon as possible. We have seen people coming and taking part in our sit-in dharna. We are happy to see that they are being supportive of us. The issue is a whole Arunachal’s issue and people supporting us will help in resolving it sooner.”
It is to mention that the PAJSC activists were demonstrating at the Tennis Court in Itanagar seeking that the Pema Khandu government act swiftly to fulfil their 13-point charter of demands.
Among the 13 demands are – that the chairman, secretary, members and all other officials of APPSC from 2014 to 2022 be immediately brought under the purview of investigation. If any discrepancies are reported, arrests must be made immediately.
Immediate constitution of a fast-track court for prosecution of the accused involved in the APPSC paper leakage scams.
Immediate establishment of a state administrative tribunal and declaring null-and-void all exams conducted by APPSC since 2014 till date.
