BJP is the only alternative to root out the twin evil of nepotism & corruption: Sonowal

Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Thursday came down heavily on the opposition parties with a tirade of charges including corruption, nepotism and inefficiency at an election rally in poll-bound Meghalaya, said that vote for BJP for a permanent solution to end corruption, nepotism in Meghalaya.

The senior BJP leader was addressing rally in support of the party candidate Rahinath Barchung who is contesting from the Tikrikilla constituency, Benedic Marak who is contesting from the Raksamgre constituency, Sukharam K. Sangma from Resubelpara constituency and Sengnab Ch. Momin from Mendipathar constituency.

Addressing the rally, Sarbananda Sonowal said, “People of Meghalaya were ripped off development and progress by the twin evil of nepotism and rampant corruption. People deserve better as India under Modi government is working diligently to become an Atmanirbhar Bharat in this Amrit Kaal. Meghalaya, with its rich natural beauty and resources, diverse talent pool, is poised to unlock a tremendous opportunity to progress and develop. BJP has been working diligently to wipe out corruption from our lives and empowering talent to make nepotism irrelevant. BJP is the only alternative to weed out these twin evils from Meghalaya. The NPP government and previously Congress govt were both corrupt & nepotistic. We know how these twin evils once dominated the national narrative but due to the visionary leadership of PM Narendra Modi ji and his welfare schemes for the betterment of society and empowerment of people, those, who live by these twin evils, have become peripheral. You have seen how the Congress and NPP has repeatedly deceived people and deprived them of the fruits of progress and development.”

Pitching for the BJP government in Meghalaya, the senior leader, Sarbananda Sonowal added, “People of Meghalaya, you must vote BJP for peace and development. You must vote BJP for social security. Wherever BJP is there, every effort is made to ensure sustainable peace and development. Under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, more than 80 crore people are receiving free ration every month under Antodaya programme. This is the largest food programme in the world. If this is not welfare of the people, then what else is? Northeast India has claimed its long aspired stand under the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji as it is ready to become the engine of progress for India. Meghalaya is an important state where people deserve to be part of this historic moment and bring progress and prosperity to their state. By voting BJP to government in Meghalaya, the non-stop development of Modi government will amp up opportunities in the state and serve the aspirations of the people.”
