Heavy gunfire was reported, targeting both security personnel and the local population, forcing residents to flee to safer locations. During the clash, a soldier from the Mahar Regiment sustained a bullet wound to his hand, according to sources in the security forces.

Over past few days, violent incidents have been reported in districts like Jiribam, Bishnupur, and other fringe areas, with at least two civilians losing their lives in the renewed hostilities.
On Thursday, a woman was reportedly killed following an alleged attack in Jiribam District. In a separate incident yesterday in Bishnupur District, a woman working in a paddy field sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
