A tourist vehicle carrying IIT Dhanbad students, plunged approximately 100 feet down the road near Pakshep, Forest Dara, Mangan.
A tourist vehicle carrying IIT Dhanbad students, plunged approximately 100 feet down the road near Pakshep, Forest Dara, Mangan, around 9:30 PM last night injuring several of the students.
The students from Jharkhand, were traveling from Lachung to Gangtok when the vehicle lost control and veered off the road.
The Mahindra Maxx was heading towards Gangtok when the driver reportedly lost control, causing the vehicle to tumble down the steep roadside.
The driver and passengers sustained multiple injuries in the accident. Emergency services and local residents promptly arrived at the scene and rescued the injured tourists.
Three severely injured students were rushed to Gangtok Hospital, while others received medical attention in Mangan.
Authorities have registered a case, and an investigation is underway.
