Two more MLAs from Meghalaya have tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday, the latest development was confirmed by Health Minister AL Hek.

Williamnagar NPP MLA Marcuise N Marak along with five of his family members, have tested positive for the disease.

Apart from Marak, Baghmara MLA Samuel M Sangma also tested positive, currently, he is undergoing treatment in one of the private Hospitals in the city.

Earlier, Phulbari MLA E Momini also tested positive for the deadly virus.

Meanwhile, the COVID-19 tally in the state rose to 5,641 as 176 more people tested positive on Wednesday, while four fresh fatalities pushed the death toll to 51.
