TIPRA Motha, the regional political party of Tripura and the main opposition party in the state, formed a Central Working Committee comprising six key leaders of the party. The committee includes party founder and former chief of the party, Pradyot Debbarma, B.K Hrangkhawl, Jagadish Debbarma, Animesh Debbarma, Mevar Kumar Jamatia, and Brishaketu Debbarma.
“I am indeed honoured and humbled . I will do my duties to strengthen and constitute the party from primary, regional , block, district and central committee in the next few weeks” posted TIPRA Motha founder Pradyot Debbarma.
Just yesterday, Pradyot Debbarma had reaffirmed his commitment to a constitutional solution for the indigenous people of Tripura. The Tripura Royal Scion reiterated that politics and party are secondary when compared to the democratic rights of his community.
Responding to remarks that TIPRA Motha will cease to exist after the end of 2023, Pradyot Debbarma speaking to mediapersons in Agartala after returning from Delhi said, “TIPRA Motha is not important, TIPRASA is more important. If we prefer the TIPRA Motha party over the community then any party whether it is the TIPRA Motha, IPFT or any other party, it cannot go for long. The fight (for Tiprasa) will continue till my last breath.”
On August 26, Pradyot Debbarma met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi. BJP Northeast co-ordinator Sambit Patra had shared a picture of the meeting in X (formerly known as Twitter) and said, “Shri Pradyot Manikya Ji had a fruitful meeting with Hon’ble Home Minister Shri Amit Shah Ji in Delhi today. They discussed the ongoing talks and the rights and welfare of the indigenous people. It has been the vision of the prime minister to secure the rights and empower the tribals of Tripura and the rest of the country.”
